  • How can I book a course at the Green Skills Training Academy?

  • All courses are bookable via our Green Skills Training Academy website.

    Use our secure online booking system to browse available courses, book and pay for them.

    We accept all major credit cards for online payments.

    If you prefer to be invoiced or have difficulty using the online system, please get in touch with us at the address below with your details and the course you would like to book.

  • What learning materials are provided for the courses?

  • At the end of each course, a full suite of learning materials is provided digitally to all. The trainer will explain these in each course.

    Some learner materials are provided in printed form.

    If electronic access is difficult, we can provide printed copies.

  • What are the pre-requisites for enrolling in a green skills course?

  • There are no prerequisites for most of our courses and programmes.

    Where these are applicable, they will be clearly indicated.

  • Do you offer job placement assistance after completing a course?

  • We do not offer job placements as part of courses unless stated.

    As each trainer is currently active in the industry, each will be able to offer advice and guidance about career development.

    At points during the year, we may offer opportunities for work experience.

  • When will I receive the course certificate?

  • You will receive our course certificates and learner materials after the course is finished.

    We will send the certificates from accrediting authorities as soon as we receive them, which is normally within seven working days.

  • How experienced are the instructors at the Green Skills Training Academy?

  • We pride ourselves on the quality of our training.

    All trainers are highly experienced and quality-assured. Each is a qualified instructor and a serving practitioner in their industry. This ensures their industry knowledge is current, and so they can offer this experience to manage the challenges and practicalities.

  • Can I transfer credits from other institutions towards a course at Green Skills Training Academy?

  • Where a transfer of credits is possible, this will be outlined on the course details page.

  • Are there any pre-course tasks or activities for green skills courses?

  • For some of our courses, we have designed relevant pre-course activities or provided access to materials.

    Where this is the case, it will be clearly stated in the course outline.

    Full details will be provided upon booking.

  • Are the courses at the Green Skills Training Academy certified?

  • Many of the courses that we run are accredited by professional bodies and awarding organisations.

    These include, for example, Lantra, City and Guilds, IOSH.

    Where applicable, the course fees will include the cost of any assessment and certificate.

  • Are there any opportunities for hands-on training or practical experience as part of the courses?

  • Many of our courses take a blended approach. This includes time in the classroom with practical experience.

  • What is the class size for the green skills training courses?

  • The size of each group of learners is determined by the focus of the course and safety guidance.

  • What is a day course like?

  • Details of the structure and content of each course is provided for each on our website.

  • How long are the green skills training courses?

  • Course timings will be included in the details for each.

    Typically, a ‘day’ course will start at 9am and finish by 4pm.

  • Where do courses take place?

  • Most of the courses take place at one of our training centres.

  • Are the courses available online, in-person, or both?

  • Most courses are face-to-face.

    We are developing an increasing suite of digital courses, some of which are hybrid (a blend of face-to-face and digital).

  • What types of green skills training programmes do you offer?

  • We offer a range of programmes and courses.

    These vary from short courses to full days and extended professional development.

  • Can I receive financial assistance or scholarships for the courses?

  • We do not currently offer any scholarships or bursaries.

    We will make this known on the website if grant funding is available.

    If you are a professional association member, it may be worth contacting them to see if any financial assistance is available.

  • Can I cancel or reschedule my course booking?

  • Unless by prior arrangement, all courses must be paid for before the start date.

    Our terms and conditions apply to any cancellation.

    · Cancellation between three weeks and one week before the date of delivery 50% charge

    · Cancellation within one week of the date of delivery 100% charge

    Where possible, we will transfer the booking to a later course.

    Under exceptional circumstances, a full refund will be offered.

    In the event of a course cancellation, all fees will be fully refunded.

    Cancellation requests can be made by contacting us directly with the booking details.

  • Do you offer customised training programmes for businesses or organisations?

  • We are very happy to design and deliver bespoke versions of our courses to any organisation.

    These can be delivered at our premises or a more convenient location to you.

  • Are there any discounts available for group bookings?

  • Discounts may be offered for multiple bookings.

    These are offered on an individual basis.

  • When will I receive confirmation details?

  • You will receive a confirmation email soon after booking.

    This will include details about the course and any instructions.

    Look out for it in your inbox/junk mail.

    Organisation administrators booking on behalf of others will also receive an email with the same confirmation.

  • What is a Green Job?

  • Green jobs focus on restoring or improving the natural environment. There is a wide range of jobs avaliable, all of which are growing in avaliablity and popularity as people realise the important of conserving our planet and stopping climate change.

  • What kind of jobs are there in the green sector?

  • There are different areas which you can enter this work force, such as environmental technicians, agricultural specialists, wind turbine or solar panel technicians, green construction managers, nuclear engineers. However the other side of the green sector coin focuses on, conservation and improvement of habitat and natural environment, job roles such as, countryside ranger, nature recovery officer, arborist, forester and ecologist.
